Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is a statistical technique for building and testing statistical models, which are often causal models. It is a hybrid technique that encompasses aspects of confirmatory factor analysis, path analysis and regression, which can be seen as special cases of SEM.
Analysis of Moments Structures (AMOS) is a software which enables the researchers to analyze the inter-relationships among constructs having multiple indicators in a model. AMOS is the newest software which has been developed for Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The advantage of AMOS compared to other software in its class is its graphics representation of the model. This means that the researchers only need to draw the AMOS graphic identical to the schematic diagram of a model in the study instead of writing instructions through computer program.
